The IMU-CORI Justice Desk condemn the alleged racially motivated violent attack on three young Afghan men living in Ireland on Thursday 5th May. Racism and Islamophobia are on the rise in Ireland, and with it the risk of hate crimes against minorities. Ireland is almost unique among EU and OSCE countries in not having hate-crime legislation. Now that we have a government it vital that we continue to put the pressure on them to introduce hate-crime legislation.
