CORI Justice has given its support to an initiative taken by five Members of the European Parliament seeking a written declaration by the European Parliament on ending street homelessness. This initiative is being supported by FEANTSA, the European network against homelessness and Caritas Europa.

The written declaration on ending street homelessness calls for measures by the European Council and Member States to end homelessness by 2015. This initiative is in accordance with the fundamental values and principles of the dignity of the human person and of solidarity, which are at the core of social justice. CORI Justice strongly believes that such values are common, regardless of nationality, religion and political position and that these values constitute a base for the European Union.

CORI Justice urges organisations and individuals to contact Members of the European Parliament and encourage them to sign the written declaration by the deadline of 26 March 2008.
